Bathroom drawers are often taken as a given. But if you’re living in an apartment in the city, chances are your bathroom doesn’t have them. Many studio apartments just come with a medicine cabinet in the name of storage. There even seems to be a rising design trend of having bathrooms without drawers. Oh, the horror! Where are you supposed to store your towels, your toiletries, your hair accesories? Is there even such a thing as bathroom organization without drawers?

If your bathroom doesn’t have drawers, it’s time to get creative and look at alternative storage areas and solutions. You have to think vertical and find ways to maximize different nooks and crannies. In this article I’m going to share some of my favourite ways of getting the most storage out of a no drawer bathroom . So get reading and get inspired!

Add Floating Shelves/Baskets

One of the ways to unlock extra space in your bathroom, is to go vertical. Use a side wall to install floating shelves.

Use these with baskets to stack towels, store back ups and even your stock of sanitary pads. Style it with plants and picture frames, and you have a practical spot to store stuff that actually looks good.

Add A Counter Rack

In the absence of drawers, counter space becomes prime real estate. Problem is, counters can get real messy, real fast.

That’s where a tiered counter rack can help. This one even comes with mini drawers and can store even your tall bottles.

Add Under Sink Organizers

If your sink has a cabinet below instead of drawer space, you may as well juice every inch of it.

This under sink organizer actually even doubles up as drawers since it has pull out trays and compartments.

A simple, cost effective method of bathroom organization without drawers.

Fix a Door Rack for Hair Accessories

Hair tools are always tricky to store. They’re bulky, come with wires and are all differently shaped and sized.

The best storage solution I’ve found so far is this cabinet door hanging rack. Has enough space to store most hair tools, including a dryer and curling irons.

Don’t have a cabinet in your bathroom? You can mount this on the wall, or simply, place it on your counter.

Add a Rolling Cart

A rolling cart is always, always a good idea. And if your bathroom lacks drawers or built-in storage, this is particularly handy.

If you have a small bathroom, you can opt for a slim rolling cart. Slides right in to nooks, and stores a lot.

Add an Over the Toilet Shelf

An over the toilet shelf is catching on. And for good reason. It can store a lot and even make a design statement.

You could go boho with this bamboo one or go minimal and industrial with this eclectic metal one or even go the farmhouse route with this one.

Over the Door Hooks

In absence of everything, an over the door organizer can always add to your storage.

Just clip it on to your bathroom door and instantly get additional places to store your paper towels and other accessories.

Get Creative with Mason Jars

You can hang mason jars to your wall using these wire hangers and get a vintage-chic vibe going.

Use them to store smaller items like q-tips, cotton balls, hair clips, make-up brushes and scrunchies.

Fix Adhesive Shower Caddies

Adhesive shower caddies are one of the most practical and cheap methods of bathroom organization without drawers.

You can opt for clear, acrylic ones or metallic ones. Easy to install, practical and rental-friendly.

Bathroom organization without drawers isn’t impossible. It just requires some creative thinking and the right tools.
